Summary

Just under 3.7 million people, 14.5 per cent, had arthritis in 2022: 17.0 per cent of females and 12.0 per cent of males, rising to 48.9 per cent of people aged 75 and over. Osteoarthritis made up 57.0 per cent of arthritis cases. This is the survey underneath the AIHW osteoarthritis page, and it does not itself print a separate osteoarthritis population count.
