NDB FY2023 analysis of endoscopic surgical-support-device procedures

About 95,000 procedures were billed in FY2023 under the endoscopic surgical-support-device codes, up 34 per cent year on year, which the analysis puts at roughly 21 per cent robotic penetration of the 466,000 open, laparoscopic and robotic cases in the covered procedures. This is soft tissue, that is da Vinci and hinotori type work, and it is not arthroplasty. It is carried as the adjacent-market benchmark for how fast a Japanese robotic code scales once it exists.
