Health New Zealand reported 'more than 1.2 million hospital discharges' for 2021/22 on its publicly funded discharge series, versus the OECD's 697,467 for calendar 2022 - the OECD series applies different exclusions (notably around day cases and non-acute activity). The Health NZ publicly funded discharge series has been migrated to an interactive Shiny web tool (https://tewhatuora.shinyapps.io/hospitals-web-tool/) with no static published national total that could be retrieved; the former static series URL now 301-redirects to that tool. Do not mix the two series.
