Transforming Episode Accountability Model (TEAM)

A mandatory episode-based payment model for acute care hospitals in selected Core-Based Statistical Areas, running 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2030 with 716 participants. It covers five surgical procedures, the first being lower extremity joint replacement. Episodes begin with either an inpatient stay or a hospital outpatient procedure and end 30 days after discharge, and participants are held to a target price covering all Medicare Part A and B items and services in the episode.
